Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Announces New Nonprofit Credential

KANSAS CITY, MO – The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance is proud to introduce the next level of the nationally recognized Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential: Advanced Certified Nonprofit Professional (ACNP). Until May 31st, 2023 CNPs can earn their Advanced Certified Nonprofit Professional credential at the discounted rate of $250 (discount of $50).

The Advanced Certified Nonprofit Professional (ACNP) credential recognizes knowledge about the successful management and leadership of nonprofit sector organizations, ongoing professional development, continued experience in the sector, and a commitment to volunteer service. The new credential is renewable, requiring credential holders to verify requirements every three years.

Advanced Certified Nonprofit Professional (ACNP) credential

Every CNP who earns the Advanced Certified Nonprofit Professional (ACNP) credential must meet four requirements:

  • Hold the Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential
  • Five or more years of Professional Nonprofit Experience including management positions
  • Ongoing Professional Development activity (equivalent to 15 hours per year)
  • Ongoing Volunteer Service (equivalent to 10 hours per year)

Since its inception, the Alliance has dedicated itself to strengthening the social sector by developing new leaders through professional development, like the Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential. The CNP credential is a durable credential focused on building generalist management knowledge, skills, and abilities to support emerging leaders in the nonprofit sector. The Advanced CNP credential recognizes individuals with an ongoing commitment to nonprofit sector excellence.

The Alliance is dedicated to equipping CNPs with the tools to be successful for their entire careers. The new Advanced Certified Nonprofit Professional (ACNP) credential will do just that. “Professional development isn’t a destination, it’s a journey,” said Dorothy Norris-Tirrell, Interim President and Chief Learning Officer of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. “The new Advanced CNP credential amplifies the important work of social sector organization leaders.”
