Part 3: Meet the Alliance’s Fantastic Four
Welcome to part three of the “Fantastic Four” series, which examines the lives of four nonprofit superheroes in the Alliance network. Whether they are nonprofit employees, volunteers or donors, each of these special people rolled up their sleeves to do the hard work required to improve the quality of life for all of us.
These nonprofit superheroes don’t wear capes, but they are certainly saving the world.
Meet Danielle Conlon Contretas, CNP
Danielle Contreras believes everyone deserves the chance to be their healthiest self – and she is using her special superpowers to ensure that this is so. Danielle has dedicated much of her career to healthcare philanthropy including her current role raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She is on a mission to democratize our healthcare system.
“During the pandemic, it became even more clear: access to healthcare should be a basic human right,” explains Danielle. “Families should be able to focus on what matters – helping their children live.”
Danielle credits the Certified Nonprofit Professional program for her many career successes. The knowledge she received, along with the network of like-minded leaders, were instrumental in reducing her learning curve.
“I would not be where I am today without the CNP,” Danielle says. “The mentoring component is so invaluable. When I was stumped, I knew I could reach out to one of my CNP mentors for advice.”
Danielle’s monthly contribution in support of the Alliance’s mission helps provide critical fuel to keep this work moving forward. She donates to the Alliance because she wants to ensure that others have access to this incredible network of changemakers.
In addition to her philanthropy, Danielle supports the Alliance by serving as a mentor to a fellow CNP. “This work is too important to go it alone. We need others we can lean on for support and guidance.”
It was Hercules who said that a true hero isn’t measured by the size of their strength, but by the strength of their heart. Given Danielle’s heart, she is certainly among the most powerful of the superheroes in the CNP network.
